UFC Fight Night 105 marks the first event we’ll be keeping a running record of. This is an interesting event with a few fights I see as coin tosses.
Possible upsets for UFC Fight Night 105
The biggest upset I picked was Randa Markos vs Carla Esparza. I think Randas ground game is good enough to hang with Esparza and while Carla will most likely dictate where the fight goes for the majority of the fight, I think Markos will be able to force Carla to stand with her much more than Esparza would like. We saw her get dismantled in her title defense and while I’m not saying that Randa Markos is anywhere near the level of Joanna Jedrzejczyk, shes going to be in positions in there that are going to force her to strike and Markos has some much improved boxing. I picked Randa Markos (+245) via UD
Johny Hendricks vs Hector Lombard
The line moved a little bit here and my sports book 5dimes has them even now at -105 a piece. I think as time progressed, more and more people saw the what I saw in Hendricks being about to withstand a huge barrage of strikes and eventually put away Lombard in the same fashion Dan Henderson, and Niel Magney did in his previous fights. Johny is an experienced vet, he was a former UFC champion and he has a tough chin. It’s going to be really hard to put him away so that’s why I’m picking Hendricks via TKO in round 2.
Paul Felder vs Alex Ricci
This is an underdog pick that I didn’t want to commit to. Alot of people aren’t seeing how legit of a kick boxer Ricci is. Felder could easily get out pointed if he chooses to play to Riccis strengths. I picked Felder because he has way more paths to victory but I wouldn’t be suprised if he ends up losing a split decision to Ricci. It’ll be interesting.
